UNDERSTANDING YOUR MEDICAL REPORT

For you to claim compensation, you will need to be medically examined by an appropriate expert. They will meet with you at a convenient time and location to discuss your injury and then prepare a medical report which will be sent to your opponent in support of your claim. However, before we do this, you will need to approve the report and it is important that you understand what it says and that you check that it is true and accurate.

In particular, you need to check that the accident circumstances are correct. You also need to agree with what the report says about your injuries so that you can highlight to us any other problems that you are experiencing. We have listed below some of the words used in the medical reports and their definitions so that you know exactly what you have been asked to check and what the Doctor thinks is wrong with you.
